Council Tower in Winter Time

Council Tower
The above photo shows a proud Council Tower which seems like wanting to touch the perfect sky with its pointy top.

It stands out among all the other buildings surrounding it. On the right side of the tower, there is a red building where the restaurant "La Turn" is. On the left side of the tower, there is the Billa supermarket and the Villa Astoria hotel. The road coming from the Council Tower leads to the Liars' Bridge shown to you in my previous posts.

Liars' Bridge Covered in Snow

Liars' Bridge
Here is a far away photo of the well-known Liars' Bridge in the Small Square. A coat of snow has covered everything in order to keep it warm and safe for the winter. The buildings are fighting desperately to get rid of the snow but with no result whatsoever.
The next photo shows their fighting a lot better.

And here is a view of the Liars' Bridge from one side.
Liars' Bridge
You can see the map of the city centre on the left.

The next photo shows a view of the Council Tower taken from a side of the road that leads to the Liars' Bridge. You can only see half of the Council Tower, namely the bottom of it in the background.

And now, a closer  photo of the Liars' Bridge covered in snow which makes everything stand out a lot better.
Liars' Bridge
The next two photos show the views from the Liars' Bridge, one facing the Big Square and the other facing the Old Town.

And, of course, all the photos are accompanied by a perfect blue sky.

Pigeons Walking on the Pavement

Pigeons

The above photo shows pigeons walking freely on the pavement in the Big Square. They have chosen the dry part of the pavement strategically to be closer to the improvized feeding spot shown to you in the previous post. Some of them are trying to engulf what the feeder has thrown at them or whatever they can find in this barren scenery.

Person Feeding Pigeons

Pigeon Feeding Spot
Pigeon Feeding Spot
In the first two photos you can see a person feeding the pigeons in the Big Square. He is withstanding the freezing cold for the well-being of these creatures which animate the Big Square. The person is standing right next to the Catholic Cathedral. In the back  you can see the skating ring and people enjoying themselves skating.

The next three photos show how the pigeons are  animating the place and are flying away from the feeding spot only to get back to it again.

Pigeons Flying in the Big Square 2

Pigeons
As the above photo shows, sometimes a relaxing walk in the Big Square proves to be a challenge. The people in the above photo had to duck from the pigeons which were trying to fly away into the Big Square horizon and later on return to an improvized feeding spot right in the centre of the Big Square. On the right, there is the skating ring on which some people are enjoying themselves skating. I wonder if they got frightened by the big flight of birds...

Pigeons
The second photo shows how the flight of pigeons filled up the middle of the Big Square, raising up in the sky eliminating people's fear of not ending up with one of them in their face. The photo is clearly liven up by the movement of the pigeons' wings who had to endure the harsh cold weather of the period.

Pigeons Flying in the Big Square 1

Pigeons in the Big Square
Here is a beautiful photo of pigeons flying in the Big Square on a freezing winter day. There was a spot in the square where someone was feeding them and they were trying to get to that spot. You can see the pigeons flying in front of the City Hall on the right and Bruckenthal museum in the middle.
Beautiful image, isn't it?

Winter Scene 6

Wintery Bruckenthal Museum
This wintery photo shows how the Bruckenthal Museum is trying to withstand winter next to the all imposing City Hall on the right. You can see just a glimpse of the sun rays on the left and the Romanian flag next to the European Union flag on the right on the City Hall building. In between the Bruckenthal Museum and the City Hall you can see a house roof top window which resembles an eye and which gives the impression that it kinda steals a glance at what is happening in the Big Square.

Winter Scene 5

Big Square

A photo taken right from the middle of the Big Square facing the German Cultural Centre and the fountain. You can see the snow starting to fall from the roof tops of the houses. In spite of the freezing cold, there were a lot of people walking on the snow paths and skating on the small ice ring situated right in the Big Square. You can see a girl going towards it in the photo. The perfect sky makes everything stand out lot better.

Winter Scene 4

Big Square

The sun shines away in the wintery scene, brightening up the lingering snow and the beautiful buildings of the Big Square. The light post which stands against the perfect sky lets you see all its details as well as the two light bulbs waiting for the night to come and take on the duty of the sun.

Winter Scene 3

Big Square in Winter Time
Here is another amazing photo of Sibiu, i.e. the Big Square, covered in snow. Once again, a perfect sky and snow falling from the roofs of the houses.
Isn't it a beautiful scenery?
